Administrative Specialist

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Responds to and resolves administrative inquiries and questions.
  • Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, correspondence, and memos; Ability to write detailed and specific correspondence; Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Prepares agendas and schedules meetings.
  • Maintains filing systems as assigned.
  • Supports managers by reviewing and correcting confidential written correspondence.
  • Conducts research, compiles data, and prepares statistical reports.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to human resources to include:
  1. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  2. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  3. May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
  4. Assists with recruitment and new hire orientation.
  5. Assists with the planning and execution of special events such as benefits, enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, etc.
  6. Performs other related human resources duties as assigned.
  • Will be a primary back-up for customer service.

Requirements:

  • An associate’s degree is required.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. 
  • Must have extensive experience using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe software programs.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in an administrative role, with a focus on supporting high level management.
  • Prefer experience in customer service with supplementary training in customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management skills, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Prefer experience in the duties of human resources administration.

Hiring Range

Rate of pay depends on knowledge, skills and abilities. Salary for this position ranges from $26.81 to $36.79 per hour (DOE).
